About Antony Karabus

Antony Karabus started his business education early. He was introduced to business by his traveling salesman grandfather, learned resilience in boarding school, and sharpened his analytical skills in the South African Defense Force. Through it all, Antony learned to navigate complexity, create opportunities, and achieve results under pressure.

As a CPA at Arthur Andersen & Co., he discovered his love for retail, developed his deep financial acumen, and found his passion for helping retailers create substantial value. In 1990, Antony founded and became CEO of Karabus Management, a boutique retail advisory firm. A few years later, he scaled the business, expanding from Canada into America and creating one of North America’s top retail consulting firms. In 2008, Antony sold Karabus Management to a global consulting firm and then stayed on to lead the acquirer’s Retail Consulting Services Practice.

Over nearly four decades, Antony has partnered with more than 150 North American retailers to create substantive earnings improvement and enterprise value. He co-created the first comprehensive North American Retail P&L Financial Benchmarking Study, is a sought-after speaker at industry forums, and serves as a go-to source for retail trade publications.
